Red heels are back!
Lost & Found, The University Center, and WAVI are partnering to put on a public Walk A Mile in Her Shoes event this year.
We would love for this event to grow and continue to raise awareness for survivors in our community.
See if your team can win the red heel award for most participants.
Walk A Mile in Her Shoes is a national organization that raises awareness on sexual and domestic violence through people, typically men, wearing red high heels.
This years Black Hills public Walk A Mile event is at The University Center from 2pm-4pm on Tuesday, April 8.
There is not a fee to participate although there may be donation buckets present.
Heels and/or capes are provided, but if there are more comfortable heels for walkers, they are welcome to bring their own.
At this event we will also have spaces to write supportive messages to survivors of sexual violence on jeans for Denim Day.
Whitney Bischoff from Lost & Found is coordinating this event with the University Center and WAVI is providing materials and resources. If you have any questions, you can reach out to Whitney at wbischoff@resilienttoday.org.
