The Journey Museum and Learning Center presents “The Rockerville Flume” Turtle Soup Story. Join Kathleen Fox at 12 p.m. on Friday, October 26th to learn about the prosperous flume (a man-made water channel used in placer mining) that enabled Black Hills Gold Rush miners to take in over $20 million in gold during its operation.Today, a popular Black Hills hiking trail follows the actual flume bed.
Turtle Soup Stories feature a presentation on historic Black Hills figures or events along with a bowl of soup provided by Angel’s Catering. Every Turtle Soup Story provides audience members with good food, good stories and good company.
Turtle Soup Story presenter Kathleen Fox is a freelance writer, editor and public speaker based in Rapid City, SD. Despite college majors in English and art, she has never had a job where she had to ask, “Would you like fries with that?” Kathleen is the author of Once Upon a Different Story and Making the Best of Second Best: A Guide to Positive Step- parenting and the co-author with Rick Kahler, CFP®, of Conscious Finance.
Feed your mind and your belly with the Turtle Soup Story Series. Admission for Turtle Soups are included in the regular cost of admission to the Journey Museum & Learning Center.
